about me…

Hello. I'm Shannon…
Our studio has changed it’s name over from Shannon Ho Photography. But it’s still me plus more team members to better serve you! I feel as though I am old enough now to have quite a few chapters in my life story. Chapters of learning, experience, joy & heartbreak.  My chapters all add up to make me who I am today.  I'm a momma of two and a deep-feeler. An INFP if you know your Myers-Briggs. I'd rather sit across from you over a cup of coffee and share our hearts rather than be jostled around at a party. I approach my job, not as work, but as my passion-driven purpose. I desire to know each client deeply and you, in turn, will get to know me deeply. I have a special privilege in documenting the way you will remember your life. It begins, not with a camera but with a relationship. If I know you, it allows me to capture those intimacies within your family in a pure and honest way.

about photography...

Since the 10th grade, I knew I was being called to be a photographer.  I attended Baylor University and graduated with a BFA in photography in 2000. I learned under an acclaimed photographer in Dallas for two years before opening my own studio in 2002. It seems crazy that my business is now a "teenager" but I enjoy what this age brings: maturity, wisdom, failures, mistakes, rhythm, comfort, passion and now, really knowing "who" this business is and where it's going.

about the studio…

Yes, we do things different around here and that’s what I love. After 16 years of owning my own studio, I have found what works for me, what works for my client, and what makes both of our hearts sing. I love curating beautiful products that showcase your images that will last more than your lifetime. I want you to be able to hold products in your hands that will be passed down to your grandkids and great-grandkids. My Nana’s photos still hang on my wall today and I treasure them deeply.
Here’s what you can expect during our time together:
~ I will spend about 15 minutes getting to know you over the phone, discussing your “vision” for the photos and products (if known). This allows us to choose the perfect location and clothing for the photos.
~ We schedule your session and shoot. Sessions usually last 1 hour unless a “Day in the Life” session is what you’ve chosen. I photograph newborns at 8 weeks old and photograph them in the studio. Family sessions are typically on-location.
~ In about 3 weeks, your images will go online and my assistant will contact you to set up an in-studio Ordering Appointment. You will choose your favorites online so that we can better serve you during the Ordering Appointment.
~ You join me in the studio for our appointment. Hopefully, warm homemade chocolate chip cookies will be waiting for you! This time together is so helpful because it makes decisions so much easier - my artistic eye combined with your favorite photographs of your family. Together, we decide on an amazing artistic heirloom that you will cherish. We want you to feel confident and excited (and maybe a little teary-eyed) about the lovely way these will be displayed.
